I am a Target fiend. I can still remember the first advertisement I ever saw for Target in the Reese Witherspoon Seventeen magazine in 1997. (My memory astounds me sometimes.) I’m constantly hunting for trendy pieces to accent my style and have be rewarded with some pretty great finds over the years. My favorite thing Target has ever done is implement the designer collaborations. Absolutely brilliant.
Then there are the staple items, that although boring, really pad my wardrobe. I recently grabbed this little navy dress for $20 and found myself reaching for it constantly because of its versatility. I wear it with flip-flops, heels, tons of jewelry or over a bikini.
Now the one thing that always seems to give away an item’s actual value are it’s buttons. Give some of your pieces a look and you’ll notice that even higher-end stores like J.Crew skimp on the buttons. I don’t know why that is, but I do know that with minimal sewing skills and some nice buttons, you can really upgrade your outfit. Luckily, I work with Andrea from Studio Eleven 11 and she had the perfect buttons for my Target dress. She sells rings made from antique military/navy buttons so I was able to choose from a pretty cool collection. She gave me a pair of gold buttons with anchors on them. They were the perfect replacement for the tiny plastic buttons that came with the dress.
Check out my new buttons! (Sorry the photo is a bit blurry.)

Love!
